Tersan delivers Live Fish Carriers to Nordlaks
The 85 metre, 19 metre breadth Bjørg Pauline and sister vessel Harald Martin, due for delivery in September, are equipped with innovative LNG hybrid propulsion systems and technologically advanced fish handling, including lice treatment systems.
The use of LNG for propulsion is expected to result in a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional diesel propulsion, as well as a 90% reduction of the emissions of NOx.
With a carrying capacity of 4300 cubic metres each, Bjørg Pauline and Harald Martin are intended to serve Nordlaks’ ground-breaking Havfarm and the vessels have special Havfarm connection systems. The 395-metre long, ship-shaped floating Havfarm can hold 10,000 tonnes of fish in its six 47x47 metre pens.
This year the Tersan Shipyard will be making its first appearance at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition as an exhibitor.
"We are looking forward to participating in the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition for the first time," commented Tersan Shipyard’s Business Development Director Sakir Erdogan.
Tersan Shipyard has in recent years become a leading shipbuilder for the fishing industry, supplying a series of specialised vessels for the aquaculture sector, in addition to a long series of longline vessels for Norwegian owners and factory trawlers for customers in Russia, Norway, Canada and elsewhere.
