New 2022 dates for 13th Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition and Awards

Mercator Media Ltd has confirmed that as a result of the Icelandic Government's decision to extend the current restrictions on gatherings, the 13th edition of the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition (Icefish) will now be rescheduled to 8-10 June 2022.

Marianne Rasmussen-Coulling, Events Director of Mercator Media Ltd, explained, “As it has become necessary for the Government to extend the COVID restrictions, we recognise this creates uncertainties and makes planning for our exhibitors and visitors extremely difficult. We would all prefer that this was not the case, and we were anticipating that the exhibition would be able to go ahead. Following consultation with our advisory board and stakeholders, we believe rescheduling to 2022 is the best decision for exhibitors, visitors, and for people’s safety in general.

Marianne concluded, “Exhibitors, delegates and visitors return to Icefish again and again. We are conscious that there will be real disappointment for people not being able to exhibit and attend in person. Icefish Connect presents an opportunity for business to continue”.

Opportunities with IceFish Connect

16-18 November 2021

Plans were already in hand for the addition of a new online virtual exhibition platform to compliment the ‘in person’ 13th Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition. The rescheduling of the live exhibition presents an ideal opportunity for IceFish Connect to still go ahead in a much-enhanced form.

IceFish Connect is a virtual exhibition with rich and engaging content that enables visitors and exhibitors to meet, network and develop business, features include the Conference programme including Fish Waste for Profit.

Clients wanting to do business will still be able to reach the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition audiences plus the potential of an even broader and international audience. Visitors will be registered, and exhibitors will be able to see their profiles, organise meetings at stands or designated meeting areas and still have great networking opportunities. The platform also offers a clever AI based matchmaking system that pairs interested visitors with the correct equipment or service providing exhibitor that suits their requirements.

Icefish Connect will become a permanent part of the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition, not just because it reaches a larger international audience but because it also offers additional features such as videos, rich content, longer exposure and more data focussed results.

More information on IceFish Connect will be released shortly.
