BUSINESS BRIEFING - MAREL
Gudbjorg Heida Gudmundsdottir, Executive Vice President Fish, took up her current position in March 2020. She joined Marel in 2011 and served most recently as a Local Manager for Marel in Iceland. Prior to that, she was Innovation Cluster Manager for Iceland and the UK. Within Marel, Gudmundsdottir has led strategic projects within Innovation and Marel Fish such as the Flexicut project, an innovation that has revolutionized the global fish industry.

The worldwide ocean economy is valued at around US$1.5 trillion per year, resulting in the ‘Blue Economy’ gaining momentum for a better stewardship and inclusivity of our oceans and ‘blue’ resources. 3 experts give their view on the potential from global, to regional to an investment view point.

BUSINESS BRIEFING - SAEPLAST
Daði Valdimarsson, Managing Director, has been working for Sæplast for a period that spans over more than 35 years. He started as a machine operator in the early days of the company in Dalvik Iceland. He then moved to Reykjavik and Denmark for education and in year 2000 he graduated with a Master degree in Industrial Enginering from the University of Alborg and Denmark. By then he was recruited as a production manager for the Sæplast plant in Iceland and in 2003 he took on the position of a managing director of the company.
