BV sponsors IceFish award

Classification society Bureau Veritas is proud to sponsor the Outstanding Icelandic Fleet Award at this year's Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition.

For the last two years Bureau Veritas has been working with Icelandic fishing companies HB Grandi and Ísfélagið. HB Grandi has built two pelagic vessels and has built two demersal trawlers at the Celiktrans yard in Turkey, with the third due for delivery before the end of this year, while Ísfélagið’s pelagic vessel Sigurður was built at the same yard.

Bureau Veritas carried out plan approval and inspections at the Celiktrans yard during construction and is also providing classification services for these fishing vessels now they are in operation.

One of the world’s longest-established classification societies, Bureau Veritas has a history going back to 1828 and the company is a global leader in testing, inspection and certification, delivering high-quality services to help clients meet the growing challenges of quality, safety, environmental protection and social responsibility.

Established in 140 countries around the world and with staff of 66,000, Bureau Veritas classifies 13,500 ships, accounting for a total 120 million GT worldwide, as well as providing a wide range of services that includes certification and auditing services according to international and national standards as well as customer specific requirements, management systems, feed and food safety, and quality and seafood auditing and certification.
